On Sunday in Jethuli village of Patna, a brick laden tractor going at high speed crushed a person. In this accident one person died on the spot. In the same sequence, while running at high speed, the tractor hit a car and then collided with a tree. After the incident, the driver of the tractor fled leaving the vehicle at the spot. On getting the information of the incident, people of the nearby villages reached the spot and started a massive protest by blocking the Patna Bakhtiyarpur State Highway. The protesting family members were demanding compensation. On getting the information of the incident, police from several police stations reached the spot and started trying to pacify the people.
The tractor driver started running away with the vehicle
It is being told that on Sunday morning Sakal Das (65) of Jetli village was going to a tea stall to drink tea. During this time a speeding tractor crushed Sakal Das. Sakal Das died on the spot in this accident. After the incident the tractor driver started running away with the vehicle at a high speed. While running away the tractor driver hit a car on the left side of the road and lost control and collided with a tree. As soon as the tractor hit the tree the driver left the vehicle on the spot and fled from there. This incident created an atmosphere of panic in the village.
Patna-Bakhtiyarpur State Highway was completely blocked
As soon as the information was received, the people from the nearby area reached the spot and completely blocked the Patna-Bakhtiarpur State Highway. The local people informed the Nadi police station about this. As soon as the information was received, the police from Nadi police station as well as Didarganj, Fatuha police station reached the spot and started trying to convince the people. After a lot of effort, the people ended the blockade. Giving information about the incident, Nadi police station in-charge Raju Kumar said that Shakal Dasâs body has been sent to the subdivision hospital for post-mortem and investigation of the case has been started. He said that the tractor driver is also being searched for.
