Family members have told that extortion tax of Rs 2 lakh was being forcibly demanded by the criminals of the village. Family members have also told that Niranjan Mahato had sold his land a few days ago. After selling the land, an extortion amount of Rs 2 lakh was demanded by the criminals of the village. Today in the morning when he was getting ready to go to Ballia Sub-Divisional Court from his home. During this time, two criminals arrived and killed him by cutting him with an axe.

We have demanded the arrest of the culprit from the district administration. If the police does not arrest the criminal, then in the future all the advocates will be forced to take to the streets and protest.
