‘Upper hand’ is a very important thing in politics. Whatever the rumours, everything seems to be in the hands of this ‘upper hand’ in Bihar by-elections and Jharkhand Assembly elections also. After the announcement by the Election Commission of by-elections on four seats of Bihar and Jharkhand Assembly elections, when the time for nomination is ahead, then this ‘upper hand’ seems to be effective. Even though Bharatiya Janata Party is the largest party in Bihar Assembly, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party Janata Dal United kept two out of four seats for itself. For this reason, in Jharkhand, BJP gave ‘honor’ to JDU by giving only two against the demand of 11-12. The names of candidates are stuck in BJP, while JDU has made up its mind. Meanwhile, Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav has finalized the deal with Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, the ‘upper hand’ of his alliance in Jharkhand.

What did Tejashwi get before Rahul Gandhi’s arrival?

Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi will be in Jharkhand today. This is his first and very important visit after the announcement of Jharkhand assembly elections. Earlier, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Yadav finalized the talks on seats with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Friday night. In the parliamentary board meeting of Lalu Prasad Yadav’s party RJD, a demand of 22 seats for Jharkhand was placed, but in front of the wishes of upper hand JMM in Jharkhand, Tejashwi Yadav has also calmed down and agreed to five seats. It is expected to be announced today. There is a possibility of announcement of giving 43 seats to JMM, 29 to Congress and four seats to CPI-ML. Here, keeping aside the huge demand of JDU in NDA, BJP gave it only Jamshedpur West and Tamar seats. Here Saryu Rai and Raja Peter will become JDU candidates respectively.

Similarly ‘Bhaari’ prevailed in NDA also.

The National Democratic Alliance has also finalized the plan for Jharkhand along with four seats in Bihar. In Bihar, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s party has given one out of four seats to BJP. The Imamganj seat, which became vacant after former Chief Minister and current Central Government Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi became MP, will remain with his Hindustani Awam Morcha-Secular. JDU has kept Belaganj seat with itself and Manorama Devi’s name is almost final on it. It is also certain that she will face Vishwanath Yadav, son of Surendra Yadav, who became MP after being MLA from this seat for five consecutive terms. Manorama Devi’s family has been controversial and Surendra Yadav has political dominance here, hence JDU is taking some time and thinking before making the announcement. Here JDU is also weak because Abhay Kushwaha, who was its candidate last time, has become RJD MP this time.
