In Vaishali district, a brick bridge built 20 years ago near Kamal Singh Sambhal Singh Plus Two School in Raghopur West Panchayat under Raghopur block, the assembly constituency of Tejashwi Yadav, collapsed and was washed away in the strong current of the Ganga river. Local people say that this bridge collapsed around 11 o’clock last night. Due to the collapse of the bridge, about a dozen wards of Raghopur East and West Panchayat have lost contact with the Raghopur block headquarters, due to which people are facing a lot of problems.

Local people say that the bridge was built about 20 years ago, which has now become completely dilapidated. The movement of heavy vehicles on the bridge has been stopped for the time being. Only pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists used to cross the bridge. People say that wards number 5, 6, 9, 10 and 12 of Raghopur Raghopur East Panchayat as well as wards number 8, 9, 10, 11, 12 of Raghopur West Panchayat have lost contact. Due to this, 20,000 people of about two panchayats have lost contact with the block headquarters. People will have to face a lot of problems in commuting. Somehow people will be able to go from one place to another by risking their lives in the flood water. According to the villagers, the construction of two bridges is going on within about 3 kilometers, while the tender process for one bridge has been completed.
