The annual meeting of the Senate at BN Mandal University, Madhepura will be held today under the chairmanship of Governor cum Chancellor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar. The meeting will be organized in the auditorium located in the administrative campus of the university. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath reached Arlekar University at around 10.50 am. For the second time in BNMU, Chancellor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar will preside over the Senate meeting. Earlier the Governor had presided over the meeting on 19 March 2024.

Senate meeting will last for about two hours
BNMU Registrar Dr. Bipin Kumar Rai said that all preparations have been completed for the annual meeting of the Senate in BNMU. Tight security arrangements have been made for the Senate meeting. Magistrates and police officers have been deployed at every nook and corner. No one is being allowed to enter inside without gate pass. Media entry has also been banned.
Helipad built in North Campus
A helipad has been constructed in the North Campus of the University. From there the Governor will reach the administrative complex of the university by road. The district administration has also completed preparations for the arrival of the Governor. DM Taranjot Singh and SP Sandeep Singh are already present near the helipad. Registrar Prof. Bipin Kumar Rai told that the Governor will reach the helipad at 10.40.
University budget will be approved
Before the 25th Senate meeting in the University, a Syndicate meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Vice Chancellor on 30th November and 7th December. The annual budget for 2025-26 was passed unanimously in the syndicate meeting. Now it has to be passed by the Senate. This time the university has prepared a budget of more than Rs 12 billion. Rs 4 crore 20 lakh has been kept in the budget for the University Information Management System. Rs 4 crore 20 lakh has been kept for the construction of a new building in the North Campus of the University. A provision of Rs 48 lakh 13 thousand 992 has been made for the construction of computer cell building. Rs 25 lakh has been kept for installing jammer in the examination hall and Rs 10 lakh has been kept for the counseling centre.
MLA said it was unfortunate
Senate member cum Sinheshwar MLA Chandrahas Chaupal, while reacting to the ban on media entry in the meeting, said that it is quite unfortunate. Never before had the media been barred from entering a Senate meeting. This issue will be placed in the Senate meeting.
