A young man who had gone to make a reel in Gopalganj died by drowning. The incident took place at the Bhikhapur canal bridge in Sidhavaliya police station area. The deceased has been identified as Guddu Kumar (18), son of Chhathu Bin, a resident of Khajuria Bin Toli village.

Life lost while making reels

Regarding the incident, local people say that Guddu had gone to Bhikhapur canal bridge with his friends to make a reel. While making the reel, he jumped into the water from the canal bridge and after that he could not come out of the water. His friends informed the family about the incident. As soon as the information was received, the villagers and family reached the spot. Local divers also reached and then his search began, but even after a lot of searching, he could not be found anywhere. Then the villagers informed the local police station about the incident. As soon as the information of the incident was received, SHO Hareram Kumar immediately reached the spot with the SDRF team. The NDRF team searched and took out the body of the youth. The police sent the body to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem. As soon as the body reached home after the post-mortem, there was an uproar among the family members and there was mourning in the village. The deceased Rahul was a high school student. He was the eldest among five siblings. His younger brother is Badal Kumar, sisters are Rinku Kumari, Pratima Kumari and Nandani Kumari. His father works as a laborer in Delhi.
