18 people of a family got burnt due to electric shock in Araria. Also, refrigerators, coolers and fans of about 200 houses of that locality got burnt. The incident happened in ward number 10 of Hariyawada. All the people are being treated in the hospital. The people who got burnt due to electric shock include Suhana Parveen, Mohammad Shami, Mohammad Nida, Mohammad Aris, Mohammad Basik, Nazra Parveen and Abdul Rahim, among others. All are being treated in the hospital, where the condition of four people is critical.
The incident happened due to negligence of the electricity department
Regarding the incident, the family members say that the electrician had connected the wire on Saturday. On Sunday, around 12 noon, the wire collided with a tree in the air, as a result of which current reached a house, due to which 18 people of the same family got burnt. The family members say that the people of the house had refused the SDO to connect the wire, but he did not listen and got the high voltage wire connected.
