According to police revelations, ganja was being cultivated in Badam of highly Naxal affected Madanpur. After getting information about this, the police reached the spot and destroyed the huge crop of ganja growing in the field. The police have also arrested a ganja farmer in the case.

Police got information about hemp cultivation through intelligence input.

Aurangabad Sadar Sub-Divisional Police Officer (SDPO-2) Amit Kumar said that Aurangabad Police is also running a strict campaign against the manufacture, production and sale of narcotics. During the campaign, large quantities of illegal Mahua Chulai liquor and domestic and foreign liquor are being continuously recovered every day. During the campaign, four days ago the police had destroyed the Ganja cultivation taking place in Charkawan Nichladih of Rafiganj. In this connection, Madanpur police got intelligence input that ganja is being cultivated in Badam village. After receiving the input, the police obtained concrete information and found out where and by whom illegal cultivation of ganja was being done.

SIT arrested ganja farmer

After obtaining complete information, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed under the leadership of the Superintendent of Police for further action. The formed SIT later conducted a raid and arrested Laxman Singh Bhokta, a hemp farmer from the same village who was cultivating hemp.

Along with this, the police also destroyed 178 big green plants of ganja growing in the field of the ganja farmer on the spot. In this case, the police duly arrested Laxman Singh Bhokta and brought him to Madanpur police station. During interrogation, he admitted to the police that he has been cultivating ganja for the last several years. He has been earning a good income from this. Due to the police not knowing about it, his business was flourishing. But this time he got caught by the police. In this case, the police have registered FIR number 536/24 in Madanpur police station under relevant sections of IPC. After the FIR, the police has sent the arrested ganja farmer Laxman Singh Bhokta (58) to judicial custody. The police is busy taking further action in the matter.
