Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) President Chirag Paswan has given his reaction on the many incidents of bridge collapse in Bihar in recent times. He has also accepted that there is a need to fix accountability and take responsibility for such lapses. He said that this is a serious issue.

Chirag Paswan said that the way bridges are continuously collapsing in the state cannot be tolerated. There is a need to fix accountability and take responsibility for this. We need to set an example so that such mistakes do not happen in the future. Until accountability is fixed, someone is held responsible and an investigation is done, this will keep happening.

Paswan, the Union Minister for Food Processing Industries, said that if quality has been compromised in the construction of these bridges, then there might be corruption. The Chief Minister has said that he has a zero tolerance policy for corruption. He said that if quality has been compromised, then there must have been corruption somewhere. Whoever has done this should be held accountable so that quality is not compromised in future. The Union Minister said that instead of allegations and counter-allegations, there is a need to take responsibility so that such incidents do not happen again. He said that I have discussed this with the Chief Minister. He completely agrees with this and we are ensuring this.

Chirag said that I am not going into which government was in power at that time, who was in the coalition, who were the ministers, because this will lead to allegations and counter-allegations. Responsibility must come somewhere and we are ready for it. I am ready to take responsibility that it was wrong on the part of our government, no matter who was in the government in the past. If this has happened today then we need to work on it and we will do so.
