Nine pilgrims died after coming in contact with a high tension wire late on Sunday night in Sultanpur village of Industrial Police Station area of Vaishali (Hajipur). Now the Bihar government has announced to give an ex-gratia amount of Rs 4 each to the families of those who died in this accident. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar expressed deep sorrow over this incident. The Chief Minister said that this accident is very sad and I am deeply saddened by this incident.
Ex-gratia grant of Rs four lakh each
Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has prayed to God to give the family members of the deceased the strength to bear the loss in this hour of grief. On the instructions of the Chief Minister, North Bihar Power Distribution Company Limited has paid an ex-gratia grant of Rs. 4 lakh each to the family members of the deceased.
Nine people were badly burnt
Villagers say that people of Sultanpur were going together to collect water from Pahelaja Ghat of Sonpur while playing DJ. Everyone was dancing to the music of DJ. Then suddenly the DJ came in contact with 11 thousand volt electricity. Nine people got badly burnt in this. Eight died on the spot itself. One died after some time. The rest are being treated in the hospital. Sadar SDPO of Hajipur, Omprakash said that Kanwariyas were going on DJ. The DJ vehicle was very high. The DJ came in contact with the high tension wire. This is why the accident happened.
