On Saturday evening, miscreants attacked an on-duty constable with a surgical blade on platform number one of Samastipur Junction, in which constable Arun Kumar got injured. The local people chased away the criminal who was running away after the attack and caught him. At present the accused is being interrogated in the GRP police station. The injured constable has been admitted to Sadar Hospital for treatment.

Injured constable Arun Kumar told that he was on duty on platform number one. At that time the Swatantrata Senani Express had arrived and stopped. He was coming down the stairs when suddenly a young man from behind attacked him with a blade, causing a deep wound on his neck. Despite being injured, the constable showed courage and chased the said miscreant and caught him in Bengali Tola Road. Then with the help of the people nearby, the accused was handed over to the GRP police station. When there was noise during the incident, other policemen also gathered at the spot and admitted the injured constable to Sadar Hospital.
The reason for the attack is not clear
The constable is not yet in a position to tell why the constable was attacked. Although he told that he has no enmity with anyone. The constable says that it is possible that there might have been a dispute with someone while on duty. Regarding the young man who attacked, the constable says that he does not even know him. Samastipur Railway Station President BP Alok said that the youth who was running away after the attack on the constable has been caught. At present the accused is being interrogated. He said that the matter is being investigated.
