In Vaishali, the Education Department has suspended a BPSC male teacher and the headmaster of the school who was found guilty of missing from the school after taking maternity leave on the e-Shikshakosh portal and directed to take departmental action. In this regard, District Education Officer Virendra Narayan said that BPSC teacher Jitendra Kumar Singh, posted at Hasanpur Osti Higher Secondary School in Mahua, remained absent from school after taking leave for several days on the basis of maternity leave. Whereas, entry of maternity leave in e-Shiksha Kosh is done through the ID of the school principal.

Education department was disgraced

The data displayed on the government portal had gone viral, which was making fun of the education department. Jitendra Kumar Singh, a BPSC teacher posted at Hasanpur Osti Higher Secondary School, was declared absent from school after taking maternity leave. Regarding Jeetendra Kumar, it was told on the portal that teacher Jeetendra was on leave on the basis of maternity leave from December 02 to December 10. When the data displayed on the government portal went viral, the local Block Education Officer had clarified that it could be due to technical glitch or error in data entry.

Error in e-Shikshakosh portal due to headmaster’s ID

District Education Officer Virendra Narayan said that an explanation was sought from Principal Shatrughan Kumar Ravi regarding the discrepancy in the ID of the school principal in the e-Shikshakosh portal. The reason was also inquired from the teacher concerned. A reply to the clarification was submitted by the headmaster and teacher, in which it was found that motherhood was entered as the reason for taking leave on the e-Shikshakosh portal from the headmaster’s ID. In this way, BPSC teacher Jitendra Kumar Singh remained absent from school by wrongly granting leave. After not getting a satisfactory answer after clarification, the headmaster and the teacher who had taken leave have been suspended.
