There was an encounter between the police and the top 10 criminal in Muzaffarpur, in which the police arrested him after he was shot. The culprit has been identified as Vivek Kumar. Police say that Vivek started firing when the police surrounded him. Then he was arrested after retaliating firing.
STF had arrested him a day before
Police say that on Tuesday evening, STF arrested Vivek Kumar and Vicky Kumar, son of Ram Pravesh Rai, resident of Devdhara village of Sahebganj police station area, from Diare area of Sahebganj and handed them over to Sahebganj police station. But the next day i.e. on Wednesday, at 10.00 in the day, both the criminals escaped from the police station on the pretext of defecating.
During this, he also beat up a policeman severely.

Police received information about Vivek Kumar’s presence in Diare area between Sahebganj and Rajepur police station area. As soon as the information was received, the police started laying siege. Seeing him surrounded by the police, Vivek started shooting at the police. Then the police also fired in retaliation in which Vivek was injured. The police immediately admitted him to SKMCH, where he is undergoing treatment. The police is conducting raids to arrest the second absconding criminal, Vicky.
Many serious cases including double murder have been registered
In this case, SDPO Saraiya Kumar Chandan said that the police has recovered a country-made pistol and two cartridges from Vivek Kumar. He told that he is also an accused in the case of double murder that took place recently in Paru police station area. Apart from this, many serious cases including double murder and Arms Act are registered against him in Sahebganj police station. A case under NDPS Act is also registered against him.
