Bihar News: Fire broke out in store room of school in Nalanda, loss of property worth three lakhs, fire brigade personnel found control

A fire broke out on Tuesday morning at PL Shahu Plus Two High School located in Biharsharif’s Sohsarai in Nalanda district of Bihar. The fire broke out in the store room of the school. As soon as a teacher reached the school on Tuesday morning, he saw fire and smoke coming out of the store room next to the lab. The teacher informed the matter to the principal of the school.

Immediately the principal informed the fire department about this. Two fire tenders, which reached the spot, brought the fire under control after a lot of effort. At the same time, on the information of the fire, a crowd of local people gathered on the spot.

Fortunately, the fire incident happened before the school opened. Otherwise, there could have been a lot of loss of life and property. In view of the rising heat and the outbreak of heat wave, the timing of schools has been changed from 6:30 am to 10 am in Nalanda.

The local people say that after the evening in the school premises, there is a gathering of anti-social elements. He expressed apprehension that the same people might have thrown beedi cigarette in the school premises, due to which the store room caught fire. Had the fire engine not reached the spot in time, the fire would have engulfed the science lab adjacent to the store room as well. This could have caused a lot of damage.

School principal Dharamshila Kumari told that she got information from teacher Chandan that the school was on fire. After this he sent his family and other people to school. An attempt was made to control the fire through the water pipe kept on the spot. After this, fire engines reached the spot and the fire was brought under control. The old stuff and some other stuff of the laboratory were kept in the store room. Which has been completely destroyed by fire. Property worth about three lakhs has been damaged.

Fire department official Naveen Singh said that the fire was brought under control with the help of two small and big fire engines. Damage is being assessed.
