Late on Saturday night, criminals shot and killed a fish trader in Khagaria. The deceased has been identified as Phoolchand Sahni (55), son of Etwari Sahni, a resident of Shobhani village under Gangaur police station. The incident took place near Shobhani High School.

He had left the house saying that he would return after doing some work

Regarding the incident, the family members say that Phoolchand Sahni had left his house to do some work. After this, the criminals shot him and killed him. As soon as the information of the incident was received, Khagaria police reached the spot and started investigating. Khagaria police is interrogating to identify the people involved in the murder. Giving information in the case, Gangaur police station in-charge Lal Bihari said that the police is investigating the matter. The body of the deceased has been taken into custody and is being sent to Khagaria Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.

Former minister was named in the murder case

Local people say that about three years ago, Khagaria Matsyajivi Sahayog Samiti minister Ashok Sahni was murdered. The deceased Phoolchand Sahni was the named accused in that murder case. A case of murder of Amit Sahni, son of a soldier, is also registered against him. It is being told that the deceased Phoolchand Sahni was released from Khagaria divisional jail a few months ago and was doing fish business. On Saturday night at around 9 o’clock, unknown criminals shot him dead.
