The Commercial Tax Department raided the electric shop located at Line Para in the city at around 7 pm on Saturday evening. During this, tax evasion on a large scale by the operator of the establishment has been revealed. After the disclosure, the team seized goods worth Rs 1 crore 14 lakh. In this regard, Firoz Alam, Joint Commissioner of the Commercial Taxes Department, says that on the instructions of the Commercial Taxes Department, Patna Headquarters, a team has been constituted to investigate Saha Enterprises. The team constituted includes Deputy Commissioner Shankar Chowdhary and Assistant Commissioner Bandana Vashisht, among others. During the inspection, it was found that inside the showroom of Saha Enterprises, another farm was being run in the name of Saha Traders, many documents of which were also in the hands of the team. Scrutiny of the documents of both the forms closely revealed several tax payment errors.

In this regard, Firoz Alam, Joint Commissioner of the Commercial Tax Department, said that the output tax of ITC has not been deposited till the month of June for the financial years 2021-22, 2022-23 and 2023-24 and the cash deposit is also negligible. The reconciliation cash was not deposited with the department for three years. Along with this, the matter of not depositing tax on time has also come to the fore. At present, the team has seized the documents of both the farms as well as the goods kept in the godown. It may be noted that Saha Traders is owned by Bhaskar Saha. While Saha Enterprises is owned by the name of Nitya Gopal Saha.
