A youth was burnt alive in a horrific road accident in Madhepura. The incident took place in Reshna Bazaar of Arar OP area under Goalpara block. Late on Tuesday night, a coal loaded truck went out of control and hit an electric pole, crushing five shops. The collision was so severe that the truck caught fire. Within no time the fire engulfed the entire truck. Before the young man sitting in the truck could escape, he got caught in the fire and was burnt alive.

There was a stir in the area after the incident. There was a crowd of people nearby. After the incident, police reached the spot and started investigation. Local people said that at around 12 o’clock in the night, a coal laden truck coming from Madhepura collided with an electric pole at Reshna Chowk, breaking 4-5 shops. After this the truck caught fire. Since it was late at night, there was no one around. After some time, flames were seen rising. By then the engine part of the truck and a person riding in the truck were completely burnt.

These people’s shop was completely damaged

After this, people informed the local police and fire department about the incident. The fire was brought under control with the help of 3 fire tenders that reached the spot. Fire officer Bhagwan Paswan said that this incident happened around 12 o’clock. After much effort the fire was brought under control. Local people said that the uncontrolled truck also completely damaged five shops in Reshna Bazaar. This includes Salauddin’s egg shop, Sanaullah’s mobile shop, Lal Manohar Das’s general store, Ravindra Thakur’s salon and Samo Das’s grocery shop. The registration number of the truck is UP12BT 4872, which was going from Madhepura towards Udakishunganj.

The cause of the fire is not clear

Arar OP in-charge Pappu Kumar said that late night the information about fire in the truck was received from the local people. Fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and brought the fire under control. The truck was loaded with coal. The cause of the fire has not been clear. Police is investigating. The body part recovered from the truck has been sent for post-mortem. The deceased has not been identified.
