The local administration has removed illegal shops built on both sides of the walkway leading to Vishwa Shanti Stupa on Ratnagiri mountain in Rajgir. For many years, shops were being set up illegally by the local people on Ratnagiri mountain, due to which plastic waste and other items were getting piled up in the forest area, due to which wild animals were coming in the way of tourists. About 55 illegal shops have been removed by the local administration and forest department.
However, after the shops were removed, the shopkeepers said that suddenly their shops have been forcibly removed by the Forest Department and the local administration. Those people were setting up their shops here for many years, without any notice and without any complete information, the shops were forcibly vandalized, due to which goods worth lakhs of rupees kept in the shops were damaged. At the same time, financial crisis has also arisen for livelihood.
Let us tell you that the 55th anniversary of the establishment of Vishwa Shanti Stupa is going to be organized on 25th October. There is a strong possibility of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar coming regarding this. Buddhist devotees seek peace by visiting Vishwa Shanti Stupa and offering prayers. Nalanda DFO Rajkumar M said that 20 to 30 shops will be built near Vishwa Shanti Stupa at the government level. Shops will be allotted through tender, but youth who have already established shops will be given priority.
Vishwa Shanti Stupa was built in 1978
Japanese Buddhist monk Fujii Guruji had built the Vishwa Shanti Stupa temple on Ratnagiri mountain in Rajgir on 25 October 1978. Since then, the Vishwa Shanti Stupa anniversary is being celebrated every year on 25 October. It was from this mountain that Lord Buddha preached peace to the entire world. Buddhist monks from all over the world come to offer prayers and spread the message of peace on the Panch Hills, which have established their identity as picturesque views.
