Chief Minister Nitish Kumar inaugurated the newly constructed building of Patna Collectorate by unveiling the foundation stone and cutting the ribbon. CM Chief Minister inspected the Collectorate premises and basement. The officials informed the Chief Minister through the ‘model’ about the facilities provided from the basement, ground floor to the fifth floor of the newly constructed Collectorate building and the seating arrangements for the officials. The Chief Minister said that I am very happy to inaugurate the newly constructed building of Patna Collectorate today. We had made a lot of efforts for this and this building has been completed as we wanted. This type of collectorate building does not exist anywhere in the country. While giving instructions to the officials, the Chief Minister said that they should take special care to ensure that it is maintained properly. Patna Collectorate building has been constructed very beautifully. Installing solar energy here will be very beneficial, it will save electricity.

Earlier, the Chief Minister held a review meeting in the main auditorium located on the fifth floor of the Collectorate Building. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that today we have made District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh sit in his new office. It is the responsibility of all of you to solve the problems of the people from time to time. Many senior officers present here have also been District Magistrates of Patna in the past. My only expectation is that you all solve people’s problems in a better, transparent and faster manner. He said that with this, Bapu’s words will reach the people of the new generation and by implementing them, they will be inspired to contribute towards maintaining social harmony and environmental protection.

Took stock of seating arrangement of officials
After reaching the fifth floor of the Collectorate building, the Chief Minister took stock of the seating arrangements of the officials. During this, the Chief Minister reached the new office room of District Magistrate Shri Chandrashekhar Singh and made him sit on the chair. The Chief Minister said that now all of you should sit in your respective offices in this newly constructed Collectorate building and solve the problems of the people. With its construction, people will also get a lot of convenience. People will get relief from running around as administrative work will be executed at one place. The Chief Minister went to the upper floor of the Collectorate building and also inspected the surrounding areas.

CM said- The old part has been preserved much better The Chief Minister inspected the area where part of the old building of Patna Collectorate (8 pillars) has been preserved in an iron frame, near the main entrance, in a part of the newly constructed Patna Collectorate complex. The Chief Minister said that the old part of the Collectorate building has been preserved in a very good manner. People visiting Patna Collectorate will be able to spend some time sitting comfortably amidst the greenery in this open area. On the ground floor wall of the Collectorate Building are two quotes by the Father of the Nation, Mahatma Gandhi (‘Seven Social Sins’ and ‘What we get from the earth is enough to satisfy our needs, but not enough to satisfy our greed. No) has been engraved which was appreciated by the Chief Minister.
Foundation stone of Patna Collectorate building was laid in 2020
Here, the Chief Minister honored Patna District Magistrate Chandrashekhar Singh and other officials/employees who made significant contribution in the construction of the new Collectorate building by giving them citations. Let us inform that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar had inspected the site for the construction of the new Collectorate building in the year 2017, after which approval was given in the year 2018 and the foundation stone of the Patna Collectorate building was laid in the year 2020. For this, administrative approval was given by the General Administration Department for the construction of the building at a cost of Rs 186 crore 42 lakh. Construction work was banned due to the global Corona pandemic and the Supreme Court.
