BJP MLC Kameshwar Chaupal, who had the first brick of the construction of Ram temple in Ayodhya, died on Friday morning. His ancestral village is a backward under Maruna block of Supaul. There is also an atmosphere of mourning in his native village. He was ill for some time. His kidney transplant was done on 23 August 2024 at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital in Delhi.

Rajkumar, who was a security guard of Kameshwar Chaupal, says that he remained healthy for about one and a half months after the kidney transplant. Meanwhile, when Chaupal reached Patna in December 2024, his health suddenly deteriorated. For the last 28 days, Kameshwar Chaupal was being treated again at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital. But his liver was also badly damaged. The hospital management did not even give correct information about it. He died on Friday morning due to kidney and liver problem.

RSS first gave the status of Karsevak

On 24 April 1956, the entire life of Kameshwar Chaupal, born in the Qamil of Maruna block under Supaul district of Bihar, was devoted to the work of God. He used to be a district campaigner of the Sangh in Madhepura in the 1980s. He was the Minister of province organization of Vishwa Hindu Parishad in 1982-83. In 1985, he received an MA degree from Mithila University Darbhanga. In 1989, when the movement of Ram temple intensified, Kameshwar Chaupal also got the privilege of keeping the first brick of temple construction. The RSS first gave him the status of Karsevak due to the active role in the temple construction movement. In 1991, Kameshwar Chaupal entered politics and was a member of the Bihar Legislative Council from the BJP quota from 7 May 2002 to 6 May 2014. In 2014, he also contested the Lok Sabha elections from Supaul, although he did not succeed. On 9 November 2019, when a decision came in favor of construction of Ram temple from the Supreme Court, the central government also gave Kameshwar Chaupal a place in the trustees of the temple. Due to the news of the death of Kameshwar Chaupal, there is mourning in the entire area including those who know.
