Sherghati subdivision of Gaya district is known as the red area. Here, the mayhem of Naxalites is seen almost every day. If we look at the big incidents, on 6 December last year, Naxalites set a JCB machine on fire in Magra police station area. Earlier, in Maunwar village of Dumariya block, Naxalites killed four people including two women. All four were hanged in the shed outside the house. The house was blown up with a bomb. Till now, Jan Adalat of Naxalites used to be held in this area, but for the first time in 77 years, a public representative has come here and conducted a Janta Darbar program. Janta Darbar of Abhay Kushwaha, who was elected MP for the first time on the ticket of Rashtriya Janata Dal, is in the news for this reason.
Poll workers also came and went by helicopter
Chhakarbandha area under Dumriya block on the border of Bihar-Jharkhand is considered to be completely Naxal-affected. Many times, even in broad daylight, Maoists have carried out bloody incidents and caused a lot of damage to the government machinery. This is the area where the police and security forces have to do a lot of planning before carrying out any action. Due to the fear of Naxalites, even the polling personnel are afraid to go there during elections. During the Lok Sabha elections held this time, the district administration had sent security forces and polling personnel to the polling booth at Chhakarbandha via helicopter to conduct the voting. After the voting, they were brought back from there via helicopter.
For the first time after independence, an MP arrived
If the villagers of the area are to be believed, this was the first time after independence that an MP had come among them. During the elections, people had come among them many times to ask for votes. But, this was the first time after winning the election that an MP had come among them directly. The villagers were also very happy to see the MP, who was elected by using his right to vote, among them. After the arrival of the MP, the villagers gave him a grand welcome.
