Water is discharged in increasing order
Six lakh 17 thousand cusecs of water was discharged in ascending order from Kosi Barrage located in Nepal Division at 12 o’clock on Saturday night. Five lakh 82 thousand cusecs of water discharge has been recorded from Barah area under the catchment area of Kosi river at 12 o’clock in the night. After this, flood water has started spreading in the populated areas situated between the eastern and western embankments of Kosi in Supaul. Here, frightened by the ferocious nature of Kosi, people gathered on the embankment throughout the night. People also spent the night awake at home. On the other hand, water pressure has increased at many points of the embankment. Due to this, officials of the District Administration and Water Resources Department kept monitoring the embankments and carrying out flood fighting work throughout the night.
