An eighth class student was raped by two miscreants in Bhagalpur. Family members say that the incident happened when she was going to buy samosas. Then two miscreants riding a bike forcibly made the minor girl sit on the bike and took her to the river bank and raped her. After the incident, the victim reached her home crying and informed her family about the incident. The incident took place in Goradih police station area. The main accused is also a minor while the second accused has not been identified.
The accused is a resident of the maternal house of the victim.
Regarding the incident, the victimâs family members say that the accused is from the victimâs maternal uncle. About two and a half months ago, accused Sunny Kumar had come to the victimâs house with her maternal uncle. According to the victimâs family, it was on Thursday evening when she was going to buy samosas, when Sunny and the other accused, who had a mask on his face, forcibly made the girl sit on the bike. Both of them forcibly took her to the river bank and raped her. When the victim returned home after the incident, she gave all the information to her family members.
An attempt was made to hush up the matter for Rs 10,000
After the incident, the victimâs family reached the accusedâs house to complain. Initially the family members of the accused denied the incident but when the victimâs family threatened to go to the police station, the accused family started offering Rs 10,000 to hush up the matter. The accusedâs uncle Jattu Yadav said that take ten thousand rupees and hush up the matter here.
The victimâs family had demanded marriage in exchange of respect.
The victimâs family said that since both of them belong to the same caste and community and the accused has taken the girlâs respect, an agreement paper should be made in which it is written that both of them will be married when they attain adulthood. This offer of the victimâs family was rejected outright by the accused party. The accused party said that I do not accept this condition, hence you can go wherever you want and do whatever you want, it does not matter to me. There was a clash between the two sides regarding this matter.
For this reason the local police station did not accept the application
The victimâs family says that after the accused returned from home, we reached our local police station. There the police station incharge said that there is no female officer at my place, hence we cannot take the girlâs statement. Therefore, you should go to the womenâs police station located at the district headquarters. The victimâs family was forced to come to the womenâs police station. Now the application has been taken to the womenâs police station, after which the hope of justice has awakened in the heart of the victim.
