Money went missing from customers’ accounts simultaneously in a branch of North Bihar Gramin Bank in Sitamarhi. As soon as this information was received, there was panic among the people. The incident took place at Bairagnia branch of North Bihar Gramin Bank located on the India-Nepal border, where a case of fraud with customers has come to light.
This is how the matter was revealed
Giving information about the incident, the bank customer said that when he went to withdraw money from the bank, he came to know that all the money was missing from his account. The news of this gradually spread throughout the area and as a result about a dozen customers reached the bank to get their accounts checked. Now this information spread in the entire block. After this, by evening a large number of customers started reaching the bank to get their accounts checked. The amount was missing from the accounts of all of them.
People created a ruckus
There was a crowd of customers inside and outside the bank. Customers have lodged a complaint by attaching slips of the amount deposited on various dates. As soon as information about the matter was received, hundreds of customers gathered in the bank and started creating ruckus. People have accused the bank of fraud. Action has been demanded in this matter.
Regional manager assured customers of investigation
When asked in this regard, Regional Manager Prabhat Kumar said that many customers have applied and complained about embezzlement. The account will be thoroughly scrutinized based on the application. The regional manager says that the deposited money of the customers will not be embezzled in any form. Strict action will be taken against embezzlers. It is being told that lakhs of rupees of hundreds of customers of the said branch have gone missing in one fell swoop.
