In a private hospital running in front of Hathua sub-divisional hospital of Gopalganj district, the mother and child died after delivery. After the operation, due to deteriorating condition, first the child died and then soon after that the woman also died. The family members have alleged that an Asha worker from Hathua sub-divisional hospital lured the pregnant woman and got her admitted in the private hospital. After the incident, the doctor and all the staff fled after closing the clinic. The family members started protesting by keeping the dead body in front of the clinic. The entire incident is of Life Care Emergency Seva Sadan near Hathua sub-divisional hospital of the district.

Family members said that on Wednesday evening Sunita Devi had labour pains after which the family brought her to the sub-divisional hospital Hathua. After which the doctors seeing her condition said to refer her to Sadar Hospital. Meanwhile, the ASHA of the village told them that it was a good hospital and got the pregnant woman admitted to a private clinic where she was operated upon. But, on Thursday first the child died, after that the mother also died.

She died immediately after this but the doctor gave her oxygen and referred her to Gorakhpur. By the time the family members took her back to the hospital, all the doctors and other health workers had fled. Here, journalists also tried to contact the doctor, but he was not found. After the incident, the family members are crying and inconsolably. The woman already has two small children. At present, the police have reached the spot and started investigating. The police say that the matter is being investigated. The accused doctor is being searched for.
