Major action has been taken against Ruban, one of the big hospitals of Bihar, and its MD Dr. Satyajit Kumar Singh. The consumer court has imposed a fine of Rs 40 lakh for playing with the patient’s life. Not only this, if the amount of Rs 40 lakh is not given to the patient within the prescribed limit, then a financial penalty of Rs 10,000 will also be imposed. District Consumer Court Chairman Prem Ranjan Mishra and member Rajneesh Kumar gave this order. In fact, Gopalganj resident Ramesh Kumar Yadav had filed a case in the consumer court accusing Ruban Hospital and its MD Satyajit Kumar Singh of negligence in treatment.

Stones were found in both kidneys

Ramesh Kumar Yadav alleged that in 2012 he was employed in Dubai. To pass the fitness test, he got a health checkup done. In this, stones were found in both his kidneys. Ramesh Yadav went to Ruban Memorial Ratan Stone Clinic at Gandhi Maidan and got his kidney stone checked. On the advice of Dr. Satyajit Kumar Singh, he remained hospitalized from 1 to 4 February 2012 and paid Rs 1 lakh.

two pipes remained in the kidney

Ramesh Kumar Yadav told that during the four days of admission, Dr. Satyajit also talked about removing both the stones by operation. But, even after the operation the problem did not subside. Upon investigation, it was found that two pipes were left in the kidney. For this, a fee of Rs 20 thousand was charged after one year i.e. on 17 February 2013. A claim was also made to remove the pipe by performing an operation. But, still there was no improvement. Upon re-examination it was found that a pipe was missing. Again Rs 70 thousand were charged for its removal. He could not go to Dubai due to his ill health.

I don’t know about the order

After this Ramesh Kumar Yadav approached the consumer court. An investigation team was formed under the leadership of Civil Surgeon. The board found negligence in treatment. After hearing the arguments of both the parties, the court imposed the fine. In this matter, Dr. Satyajit Kumar Singh said that till now I am not aware of this complaint or any order of the Consumer Court. If I get a copy of the order, I will talk to my lawyer about this matter.
