Bihar has received a big shock on the very first day of the new National Democratic Alliance government of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. After the swearing-in on Sunday night, a cabinet meeting was held on Monday and ministries were announced in the evening. Contrary to expectations, Bihar was not given the Railway Ministry. Apart from this, the party of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who is being called the kingmaker of the government, Janata Dal United, has not got a very important department. According to this, the weight of Jitan Ram Manjhi and Chirag Paswan seems to be more at first glance. Giriraj Singh seems to be in a good position in the cabinet as before.

71 ministers took oath along with Modi on Sunday. These include 30 cabinet ministers, five ministers of independent charge and 36 ministers of state. Information about the ministries of all these ministers was made public on Monday evening. Hindustani Awam Morcha president and former Bihar chief minister Jitan Ram Manjhi, who became an MP for the first time, has been given the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. Among the cabinet ministers, former national president of Janata Dal United and Munger MP Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh has been given the Ministry of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairy along with the Panchayati Raj Ministry. BJP’s Begusarai MP Giriraj Singh has been given the Textile Ministry. Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) president and Hajipur MP Chirag Paswan has been given the Ministry of Food Processing.
