A total of eight MPs from Bihar were sworn in as ministers in the new National Democratic Alliance government led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Six of them are Lok Sabha MPs, while two are Rajya Sabha MPs. Out of the eight ministers, four are from the Bharatiya Janata Party, two from the Janata Dal United, one from Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) and one from Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular). Chief Minister Nitish Kumar congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for forming the government at the Centre. He also attended the swearing-in ceremony along with ministers from JDU quota, including Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Jha.

Who has how many MPs and who was made minister

The National Democratic Alliance, which won 39 out of 40 seats in Bihar last time, had to be satisfied with 30 seats this time. In this, 12 MPs each from BJP and JDU were elected. Three ministers were also made from BJP in the previous government. This time four ministers have been made – Begusarai MP Giriraj Singh, Ujiarpur MP Nityanand Rai, Muzaffarpur MP Rajbhushan Chaudhary and Rajya Sabha MP Satish Chandra Dubey. Munger MP Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lallan Singh and Rajya Sabha MP Ramnath Thakur from JDU were sworn in as ministers at the Center. All five candidates of Chirag Paswan-led LJP (Ram Vilas) were elected MPs. Chirag was sworn in as a minister in the Narendra Modi government at the Center. HAM (Secular) got only one seat in NDA to contest and party chief Jitan Ram Manjhi, after becoming MP from Gaya, has now been made a Union Minister.

Four cabinet ministers and four ministers of state were appointed

Giriraj Singh, Lallan Singh, Jitan Ram Manjhi and Chirag Paswan were made cabinet ministers in the swearing-in ceremony held at the Rashtrapati Bhavan complex on Sunday. Ramnath Thakur, Nityanand Rai, Satish Chandra Dubey and Rajbhushan Chaudhary Nishad were sworn in as ministers of state.
