In Bajrang Puri locality of Alamganj police station area of Patna City, criminals gunned down a retired section officer of the Secretariat who had gone for a morning walk. He was admitted to the hospital for treatment, where doctors declared him dead. After receiving information about the incident, the police reached the spot and started scanning the CCTV cameras around the incident site. After the incident, the police has started investigation on the spot through FSL team. The deceased service provider employee has been identified as Rajeev Ratan Gupta, 65 years old.

Patna City Police Sub-Divisional Officer Atulesh Kumar Jha, when asked about the reason for the incident, said that it does not appear to be a case of robbery. It is being told that Rajiv Gupta had retired from the post of Section Officer from the Secretariat a few years ago. The family member told that he was building a flat of his own. The family members have expressed apprehension that the incident was carried out due to a land dispute. Rajeev Ratan Gupta had gone out for a morning walk on Tuesday. It is being told that even after being shot, Rajiv Ratna ran away and reached near a temple in Bajrang Puri locality and fell there. After receiving the information, nearby people reached the spot. He was admitted to Nalanda Medical College Hospital for treatment, where he died. Patna City Police Sub-Divisional Officer said that after the incident, investigation has been started on the spot through FSL team. He said that the police have recovered two bullet shells from the spot. Rajeev Gupta’s nephew told that the murder took place over a land dispute. He has told that a man from Paros has a hand in this matter.
