In a direct collision between a Scorpio and an e-rickshaw in Nawada, two people including a woman died tragically, while many people were seriously injured. The condition of some of the injured remains critical. Some injured have been referred for better treatment after first aid. The incident took place near Chhatvaiya Ahar located on Kauakol-Mahudar main road.

Regarding the incident, local people say that Rohit Sao, resident of Machhandara village of Kauakol police station area, was going towards Mahudar after picking up passengers from Kauakol market on his e-rickshaw. Then, near Chhatvaiya Ahar, ahead of Rani Bazar village, a Scorpio driver coming at a high speed from the opposite direction hit the e-rickshaw directly. The collision was so strong that the e-rickshaw was blown to pieces and Meena Devi (45), wife of Naresh Sao, resident of Mahuder village, who was traveling in it, died on the spot, while the driver died during treatment. He was Rohit Sao, resident of Machhandara village. In this incident, Naresh Sao and his daughter Pooja Kumari, resident of Mahuder village, Vikas Kumar, son of Hari Yadav, Maya Kumari, daughter of Nandkishore alias Nandu Yadav, resident of Madhurapur village and Sunita Kumari, daughter of Suresh Yadav were seriously injured.

After the incident, the Scorpio driver fled leaving the vehicle behind. The local people hurriedly admitted the injured to Kauakol PHC. Seeing the serious condition of many people, the doctors referred all the injured to Sadar Hospital Nawada after first aid. Among the injured, the condition of Vikas Kumar and Sunita Kumari is said to be serious and worrying.

Police engaged in investigation

As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and seized the crashed Scorpio and e-rickshaw. Police have sent the bodies of both the deceased to Nawada for post-mortem. The police is investigating the matter
