A student committed suicide by hanging herself in Jamui. The incident took place in Dobatiya village of Barhat police station area. After the incident, a crowd of villagers gathered at the house of the deceased. Local people informed the police of Barhat police station about the incident. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot and sent the body to Sadar Hospital Jamui for post-mortem. The deceased has been identified as Vandana Varnwal alias Pooja Varnwal (21), daughter of Deenbandhu Varnwal, resident of Dobatiya village.
Was in depression due to not being selected in inspector
Regarding the incident, the father of the deceased told that Bandana was the third among four sisters and brothers. His wish was to become a sub-inspector. Regarding this, she was preparing for the competition by staying at home. She had also given the Inspector’s exam once or twice but could not succeed. Because of this, she was living under a lot of stress, while Bandana also went for running every morning. Like every day, on Wednesday also she went for a run in the morning and after running, after having breakfast, she went to her room on the terrace to study. When she did not come down to eat lunch in the afternoon, the family members went to her room to look and found her swinging with the help of a towel from the latch in the ceiling. He was brought down in a hurry. But by then he had died.
Police engaged in investigation
The family members and local people immediately informed the Barhat police station about the incident. On receiving information about the incident, Additional Police Station Head Dhananjay Singh and SI Ruhi Fatma reached the spot along with the team. After investigating the spot, the body was sent to Sadar Hospital. Regarding the incident, Barhat police station incharge Kumar Sanjeev said that information was received about the suicide of a girl in Dobatiya village. At present the body has been sent for post-mortem. The entire matter is being investigated.
