Police of Kishanpur police station of Supaul district have caught a Scorpio laden with 810 liters of country liquor near Gol Chowk, Kishanpur block headquarters. Also, two smugglers have been arrested in the case.
According to the information, on Tuesday night at around 10 pm, Kishanpur police, on a tip-off, arrested a businessman with 810 liters of Nepali country liquor near Gol Chowk. During this time, the police personnel sitting in the vehicle got injured when the businessman hit the parked police vehicle with dial number 112 hard.
Trainee DSP cum Police Station Head Neetu Singh said that the police received secret information that smugglers were coming towards Kishanpur with liquor in a white colored Scorpio. Where SI Nagamani Madhukar was sent with the police force for verification. During this time, he started vehicle checking near the State Bank located in Kishanpur market. Meanwhile, when an attempt was made to stop a white colored Scorpio coming from Bhaptiyahi with the help of a torch, the driver dodged the police and started running away with the vehicle. The police car chased him. However, while escaping, the Scorpio hit a Dial 112 vehicle parked at a short distance near Gol Chowk.
Despite the collision, the Scorpio driver tried to run away along with the vehicle. But, Scorpio stopped. The Scorpio’s flywheel also got blasted. At the same time, Dial 112’s vehicle was badly damaged due to the collision with Scorpio. At the same time, ASI Sonal Kumar sitting in this vehicle got injured.
Trainee DSP said that the police team of the police station, which arrived from behind, immediately seized the Scorpio and took its driver and another person into custody. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 19-year-old Naveen Kumar, resident of Saraigarh Ward 12 of Bhaptiyahi police station area and the other person on board has been identified as 20-year-old Shiva Kumar, resident of Gamharia Ward 16 under Gamharia police station area of Madhepura district. Upon search, 810 liters of Nepali country liquor in total 30 sacks, 90 cartons of 300 ml and 2700 bottles of 810 ml were recovered from the Scopio. An FIR has been registered in the matter and further action is being taken.
