The session of Bihar Vidhan Mandal was already fixed from 22 to 26 July. Tejashwi Yadav, son of Rashtriya Janata Dal’s national president Lalu Prasad Yadav, is a member of Bihar Vidhan Sabha as well as the leader of the opposition. He was absent in the five-day session and the leaderless opposition did nothing more than walkout on every issue. Tejashwi Yadav, who kept attacking the government outside, came to Patna during the session, but people kept waiting for him on the last two days. Now Tejashwi Yadav came in front of the media after a full week and started with the same issue on which the opposition disrupted the assembly for a long time. Tejashwi Yadav said that now RJD will go from the road to the court regarding reservation.
Tejashwi Yadav spoke on the Ninth Schedule
Tejashwi said that the Bihar government took the reservation limit to 75 percent by conducting caste census. Even after this, we were afraid that the BJP people would try to influence the reservation by getting their stamps placed in the court in some way or the other. That is why we had demanded that the reservation system in Bihar should be put on Schedule 9 on the lines of Tamil Nadu, so that there is no tampering with it. We had met the central government regarding this. But, there was no benefit. Tejashwi said that the BJP is against reservation. We were demanding to put the reservation in Schedule 9. But, our demand was not met. That is why we have now decided to take to the streets. The NDA government does not want the reservation limit to increase in Bihar. Now the Government of India has also given its answer regarding putting reservation in Schedule 9. The Government of India said that only the Central Government has the right to put reservation in Schedule 9. Not the state government. We had made the demand in the East Zone meeting. But, there was no hearing even at that time. Now BJP and JDU are sitting silently. JDU is now a part of the Government of India. We are informing the people of the country and the state that the NDA government is not working for Bihar after taking votes from the people of Bihar. Neither did it give the status of a special state nor is it putting reservation in the Ninth Schedule. They cheated even in the name of the special package.
RJD will present its side separately on reservation in Supreme Court
Tejashwi Yadav said that Bihar government has not maintained transparency on the issue of reservation. The Chief Minister is silent. Nitish Kumar has become a super flop despite winning so many seats. What all was not done to get Bihar the status of a special state! Now the government supported by Nitish Kumar is itself saying that we will not give the status of a special state. The Government of India is not ready even on Schedule 9. BJP people are not listening to JDU. Neither the status of a special state was given nor the reservation. We will definitely protest on the streets regarding the fight for reservation and will present our side in the court. By next Monday, we will present our side in the Supreme Court. RJD and the people of Bihar do not trust the side of the Bihar government in the court. That is why we will go to the court on this issue.
