The weather in Bihar has once again changed its course. The cold has slowly made a comeback. It rained in many districts on Tuesday and something similar happened on Wednesday morning too. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of rain and thunderstorm till February 15. The capital Patna as well as the entire Bihar has once again been hit by cold due to rain and westerly wind since February 13. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert that this effect will last for two days. After a few days of scorching heat, the sun is once again hiding behind the clouds.

Due to the change in weather across Bihar, heavy rains have once again made people feel cold. The Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of thunder and lightning in some places of South Bihar. Apart from the capital Patna, there is also forecast of thunder and hailstorm in some places of Kaimur, Rohtas, Aurangabad and Gaya districts. The Meteorological Department has advised farmers to take precautions in view of the possibility of rain, hailstorm, thunder and lightning. On Tuesday, rain with thunder, thunderstorm and hailstorm occurred at one or two places in the south-west and south-central parts of the state. Regarding this, Orange and Yellow alert has been issued for rain with thunder and lightning in one or two places of North-West and South-East parts. There are chances of rain of 15 to 20 mm. According to the Meteorological Department, due to the mixture of east and west winds and increase in humidity, there is a possibility of 15 to 50 mm of rain in South Bihar. The Meteorological Department has advised farmers to safely store their crops.
How was the weather, what is the reason for it?
According to data received from various observatories during 24 hours, light rain with thunder has been recorded at some places in South Bihar. Among these, Dehri 1.6, Aurangabad 3.1 and Kaimur 2.5 are prominent. The minimum temperature was recorded two to three degrees higher than normal. At the lower level of the atmosphere, there was a cyclonic circulation over the Bay of Bengal and a cyclonic circulation over the tri-junction of Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra. Due to the combined effect of these two, two opposite air flows were slowly moving towards the east. Due to the effect of this activity, intermittent light rain with moderate thunderstorms along with strong surface winds are forecast in some parts of Bihar till February 15. Along with this, a new Western Disturbance is predicted to hit the Western Himalayan region on February 17. In this situation, the minimum temperature will remain different from normal till 17th.
