During the demolition of a dilapidated school in Katihar, the building collapsed. In this incident, three laborers got buried under Malwa, out of which two died on the spot, while the condition of the third is critical. The local people hurriedly took him to the hospital for treatment but seeing his serious condition, the doctor referred him to a higher centre. The incident took place at Peerganj Primary School in Azamnagar police station area. The deceased have been identified as Sajan Mandal and Sarwan Mandal.
Accident occurred while demolishing school building
Local people told that the dilapidated building of Peerganj Primary School was being demolished. During the demolition of the building, the entire building suddenly collapsed and three laborers were buried under the debris. By the time people ran to help after the accident, two laborers had died. The third laborer was seriously injured in this incident. The third injured laborer was hurriedly admitted to Azamnagar Community Health Center for treatment. But seeing the serious condition of the injured labourer, the doctors gave him first aid and referred him to a higher center for better treatment.
Police engaged in investigation
Regarding the incident, Superintendent of Police Jitendra Kumar said that as soon as the information about the incident was received, the police of Azamnagar police station reached the spot. Police have sent the body to Katihar Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
