Two children died due to drowning in a puddle in Banarasi Dhala Ward-17 mohalla of Kolhata village of Jakhar Dharampur Panchayat of Rosra police station of Shivajinagar block in Samastipur district. The deceased children are said to be Abhishek Kumar, five-year-old son of Ramakant Mukhiya of the village and Krishna Kumar, five-year-old son of his nephew Rahul Mukhiya, resident of Baheri police station. On receiving information about the incident, the police seized the body and sent it to Sadar Hospital for postmortem.

It was told that both the children were playing on the dam on Thursday afternoon. During this, both of them fell into the pit, due to which both of them went into deep water and drowned. But the family members could not get the information. People were searching here and there. During this time in the evening, people saw the bodies of both of them being lowered into the water. After that the body was taken out of the water.

On the other hand, after the information about the incident, there was chaos among the family members. The family members are in bad condition due to crying. The mother of both the innocent children was fainting again and again. People told that Krishna Kumar, son of Rahul Mukhiya, resident of Baheri village, was living here for about a year. Shivajinagar CO Veena Bharti said that information about the incident has been received. Revenue employee Ravi Gupta has been sent to the incident site.

Rosra police station head cum inspector Mukesh Kumar Mandal said that police has been sent on information about the incident. The body has been confiscated. The body is being sent to Sadar Hospital for postmortem. UD case is being registered regarding the incident.
