Two innocent girls died after drowning in Nalanda’s Naunhiya river. The incident took place in Mohankhandha village of Telmar police station area. The whole area has been shaken. Two small girls died after drowning in the Naunhiya river on Sunday evening. The tragic incident occurred when both the girls went to defecate on the banks of the river. The girls have been identified as Beauty Kumari (06), daughter of Sonalal Paswan, resident of Mohankhandha village and Karishma Kumari (10), daughter of Chandan Paswan. According to local disaster friend Amarjeet Kumar Bhola Yadav, the girls slipped and went to the middle of the river and drowned.
The bodies of both the girls were taken out of the river
As soon as the incident was reported, the villagers immediately started rescue work, but the girls could not be found. Later the local police and administration were informed. The team of divers and disaster friends worked tirelessly in the rescue operation that lasted overnight. After about 12 hours of hard work, the bodies of both the girls were taken out of the river on Monday morning.
Police sends dead body for post-mortem
Telmar police station chief Shatrughan Shah reached the spot and took the bodies in his custody and sent them to Bihar Sharif Sadar Hospital for postmortem. As soon as the information about the incident was received, Zila Parishad member Kamlesh Paswan, local Mukhiya Hari Narayan Singh and other public representatives reached the spot. They consoled the families of the deceased girls and assured them of getting the benefits under disaster relief.
