A young man died after being hit by a speeding Scorpio in Purnia. After the death, the angry mob set the car on fire, which burnt to ashes within a short time. The family members are crying bitterly after the death of the young man. Local people informed the police about the incident. As soon as information about the incident was received, the police reached the spot and sent the body to the hospital for post-mortem. The incident took place near Lake Tola of Nagar police station area. The deceased has been identified as Deepak Kumar, son of Jatin Chandra Das, resident of Jheel Tola.
Uncontrolled Scorpio entered the shop
Regarding the incident, the deceased’s mother Usha Devi told that Deepak Kumar was closing the breakfast shop when the speeding Scorpio went out of control and entered the shop. The Scorpio caught hold of Deepak Kumar and dragged him some distance. As soon as the incident happened, people nearby gathered there. The local people hurriedly admitted the injured Deepak to the private nursing home of Purnia, where he died in the evening. After the death, angry people set the Scorpio on fire. Within no time the Scorpio started burning. The relatives of the deceased have demanded from the police that the accused should be arrested as soon as possible and appropriate compensation should be given to the family of the deceased.
Police engaged in investigation
Regarding the incident, city police station incharge Navdeep Gupta said that an uncontrolled Scorpio crushed a young man. He died during treatment. After the death the family members got enraged and set the Scorpio on fire. In connection with the death of the youth, the deceased’s mother Usha Devi applied to the police station. The number of the Scorpio has been mentioned in the application, on the basis of which the FIR has been lodged. Police are investigating the matter and the accused are being searched.
