National Democratic Alliance has considered Rashtriya Lok Morcha chief Upendra Kushwaha, who lost the election to Bhojpuri actor Pawan Singh from Karakat Lok Sabha seat, as trustworthy. Understanding his importance in NDA, Kushwaha has been nominated for Rajya Sabha elections. Along with Kushwaha, another NDA constituent Lok Janshakti Party (National) chief and former Union Minister Pashupati Kumar Paras had his eyes on the Rajya Sabha seat that fell vacant after BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Vivek Thakur became a Lok Sabha member. But, BJP made sacrifices for former Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha who could not convert even the single seat into victory in Lok Sabha elections and NDA expressed trust in him.

Kushwaha said- I thank all the leaders of NDA from my heart.

Upendra Kushwaha wrote on social media that for the announcement of my candidature from NDA for Rajya Sabha membership, I express my heartfelt gratitude to the common people of Bihar and the hard-working workers of all the constituent parties of NDA including Rashtriya Lok Morcha, who maintained their affection towards me even in adverse circumstances, Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi Ji, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar Ji, Home Amit Shah Ji, Union Ministers JP Nadda, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi Ji and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and other leaders and workers of NDA.
