Fed up with dowry harassment, a married woman committed suicide. The incident took place in Sisai village of Bhore police station in Gopalganj district, where a woman, fed up of harassment for dowry, committed suicide. The family members have lodged an FIR against nine people including the husband in the police station regarding this matter.

The wedding took place in 2021

Regarding the incident, police say that Neha, daughter of Umesh Varnwal of Sisai village, was married in the year 2021 to Amit Kumar Varnwal, son of Moti Lal Varnwal of Bhingari Bazaar under Khampar police station area of ​​Deoria district of UP. Within a few days of marriage, she started being harassed for dowry of Rs 5 lakh in cash, bike and gold chain. This sequence continued continuously for a few months.

Was banished from Uttar Pradesh and then Panchayat was held

The relatives of the deceased say that she was being continuously harassed for not giving dowry. Then about one and a half years ago, they beat her and threw Neha out of the house (Uttar Pradesh). From that time onwards she started living in her maternal home. Panchayat was held about a month ago. Apart from the Panchayat, other local people in the Panchayat told all of them to keep the woman, but Neha’s in-laws refused to keep her. Because of this she started living under a lot of pressure.

Death in Uttar Pradesh

The family members of the deceased say that due to mental pressure, Neha set fire to a gas cylinder with the intention of committing suicide on December 17, due to which she got seriously burnt. The family members immediately took him to the local hospital, where the doctor, seeing his critical condition, referred him to a higher center for better treatment. The family took the injured Neha to Deoria in Uttar Pradesh, where she died during treatment on Wednesday.

Case registered against nine people including husband

Regarding the incident, police say that on the statement of the deceased’s father, a case was registered against nine people from her in-laws including Neha’s husband Amit Kumar Varnwal. As soon as the dead body of the married woman reached her parents’ house, there was an outcry among the family members.
