According to the information, the National Human Rights Commission has issued a notice to SSP Muzaffarpur in the case of an advocate’s eye being gouged out by a police jawan. Taking a tough stand, NHRC has questioned the Muzaffarpur police as to why the advocate was batoned and why was the advocate’s eyes gouged out? The report of the entire matter has been sought by the Commission before April 15.

It is noteworthy that on February 7, advocate Pankaj Kumar was returning from Patna to his residence in Muzaffarpur at around 11:40 pm. After that a policeman hit advocate Pankaj Kumar in the eye with a stick. After this attack, he fell on the ground groaning in pain. Then all the policemen ran away from there. After that, seriously injured advocate Pankaj Kumar was treated at Shankar Nethralaya, Kolkata, but he has lost the vision in one eye. So far, surgery has been done twice, while another surgery is to take place in the last week of May.

At the same time, the victim advocate Pankaj Kumar had given information about this entire matter to the National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi and Bihar Human Rights Commission, Patna through human rights advocate SK Jha. While hearing the matter, now National Human Rights Commission Delhi has summoned SSP Muzaffarpur.
