Famous social entrepreneur from Bihar and Indian youth icon Sharad Vivek Sagar was awarded an honorary doctorate degree by JECRC University in Jaipur, Rajasthan on Saturday, January 6. President O.P. at the 7th convocation of JECRC University held in Jaipur. Aggarwal awarded the doctorate degree to Sharad Vivek. The University announced in the presence of distinguished guests, academicians, graduate students and parents, that “Today, we stand at a very special moment, when we proudly confer our highest honor on a great man whose life journey was marked by hard work, An epitome of vision and transformational leadership, it is with great privilege and honor that today JECRC University, Jaipur confers the honorary degree of Doctor of Letters ‘Honoris Causa’ on Sharad Vivek Sagar.
Dr. Mashelkar praised Sagar
The university selected two individuals for this highest honor. Along with Vivek Sagar, renowned scientist and Padma Vibhushan awardee Dr. Raghunath Anant Mashelkar was awarded the honorary doctorate degree. Dr. Mashelkar praised Sagar in his convocation speech, saying, “This is my 48th honorary doctorate but I have never heard a more inspiring speech from Sharad Sagar.” On Saturday evening, Dr. Mashelkar again posted on social media regarding receiving the honorary doctorate degree and said, “It was a privilege to share the stage today with Sharad Sagar, 50 years younger to me. Sharad Sagar, who hails from Bihar, is a world famous social entrepreneur, renowned thinker, powerful speaker and Indian youth icon. Growing up in small towns and villages of Bihar, Sagar founded the national organization Dexterity Global at the age of 16. Youth trained by the organization have received scholarships worth more than ₹175 crore from top universities across the world.
