Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who will be on a three-day visit to India, reached Bodhgaya on Tuesday for a tour. Where the members of Mahabodhi Society welcomed him warmly. During this time, many senior officials including DM and SSP of Gaya are camping. After the welcome, the President reached Mahabodhi Temple and had darshan of Lord Buddha and offered special prayers. Police forces deployed at every nook and corner

However, the district police is on alert regarding the arrival of Sri Lankan President Dissanayake. Additional police forces have been deployed at every nook and corner from the airport to Mahabodhi Temple. Even before his arrival, the road from the airport to Bodh Gaya has been closed for the general public.

Common people banned from entering the temple

In this regard, Gaya DM Dr Tyaga Rajan SM said that due to the arrival of Sri Lankan President Dissanayake on Tuesday morning, common devotees have been banned from entering Mahabodhi Temple till 10.30 am. After the departure of the President of Sri Lanka, common devotees will be able to enter the temple. It is known that in the month of December, Buddhist devotees from different countries reach Bodh Gaya and worship Lord Buddha.

Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake is on a three-day official visit to India. This is his first foreign trip after assuming office in September. Before coming to Bodh Gaya, he had met many senior leaders including President Draupadi Murmu, PM Narendra Modi in Delhi.
