News started circulating that even if the young man gets married now, there will be no children, his life is ruined…etc. In such a situation, ‘Amar Ujala’ discussed the case with Dr. Sahajanand, a renowned surgeon from Bihar and National President of IMA. He said, “If the vasectomy is done immediately, then it can be opened by a good surgeon. Fibrosis can occur if it is opened for a long time. If it is opened for a long time, the capacity of the reproductive system can be reduced by 30%. There have been cases of doing so.

During Tuesday-Wednesday, the life of Manka Yadav, son of Ramdaheen Singh Yadav of Jagaria village of Chainpur, changed badly. The ground went out from under the feet of the whole family, when information was received about the sterilization of Manka, a young man admitted in the CHC for the operation of enlarged hydrocele. According to relatives, on the advice of ASHA workers, poor families had reached Chainpur CHC only through ASHA for free and easy treatment. The family is accusing her of ruining her future by vasectomy, while the vasectomy Dr. Raj Narayan Prasad said that this allegation is wrong. Sterilization was done after giving information. Manka and family members say that the problem was due to increase in hydrocele and this was also seen by the doctor. Didn’t do that, got sterilized. Youth Manka Yadav expressed concern that how will he get married now? The family members said that if there will be a marriage then how will there be children? Action should be taken against the doctors.
Action should be taken against doctors, but first get treatment
‘Amar Ujala’ spoke to the National President of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) and eminent surgeon Dr. Sahajanand Singh on this matter. He said that if this has happened due to the negligence of any doctor, then it should be looked into in the government inquiry. At present, the relatives should take him to a good surgeon as soon as possible and get him treated. If the relatives want, they can bring me to Patna and get me treated. There may be a risk of fibrosis if there is more time. There is an option to open the vasectomy and if it is opened properly early, there is less possibility of affecting the fertility. Guarantees cannot be given, but there have been many such cases when children have been born after years of open vasectomy.
