Stones were pelted at Jaynagar-New Delhi Swatantrata Senani Express Samastipur. Due to this, many glass panes of Pantry Car, AC Coach B1 and A1 were broken. This incident was caused by none other than a mad person. East Central Railway (ECR) officials said that a youth pelted a stone on 12561 Swatantrata Senani Superfast Express going from Jaynagar to New Delhi as soon as the train started from Samastipur station on Thursday night. He said that no one was injured in this incident, but the window glasses of three coaches including the pantry car were damaged.

Here, the RPF Inspector said that this is the work of a mad person. He suddenly started pelting stones at the moving train. As soon as the stone was hit, the alert loco pilot stopped the train and after some time, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel also reached the spot and started investigation. After some time the train left for Muzaffarpur. The damaged glass of the train was repaired at Muzaffarpur station and then the train was sent to Delhi.

Passengers said that a mentally disturbed person was harassing many passengers on platform number one. After which he was beaten up and chased away from the platform by the vendors. Later, the deranged person was standing on the side of the railway line as the Swatantrata Senani Express opened from platform number one of Samastipur Junction and reached near Kali Mandir in the railway yard when the said deranged person started throwing stones at the train. However, after this incident of stone pelting, he fled towards Thaneshwar Bridge in the railway yard itself.
