About 6 hours after the death of two people, the forest department team reached the spot for rescue. After much effort by the local people, the rescue team was taken to the Kosi embankment area.

The terror of wild buffalo, which started on Wednesday morning in Bhagwanpur Panchayat under Basantpur block of Supaul, ended with the onset of dusk. The wild buffalo was shot at around 6:30 pm. However, the administration is refraining from saying anything openly regarding this. Bhimnagar police station incharge Deepak Kumar has confirmed the killing of the buffalo. He said that a bullet had been fired, but there was no information as to who fired it. I myself have seen a dead buffalo. Two people lost their lives in Bhagwanpur Panchayat

A wild buffalo swept away by the flood waters killed two people in Bhagwanpur Panchayat on Wednesday morning. The deceased were identified as 50-year-old Bhuvaneshwar Mandal and 25-year-old Mukesh Kumar, residents of Bhagwanpur. Here, angry local people blocked NH 106 at around 11 am in the morning. The demonstration of the villagers continued till around 6 pm. People were demanding compensation for the victims’ families and immediate capture of the wild buffalo. However, the jam ended later on the assurance of the CO and the police station chief. After which both the bodies were sent to Sadar Hospital for post-mortem.
