Additional Chief Secretary of Education Department S Siddharth has directed teachers teaching in all 2006 primary, middle, higher secondary, higher secondary schools of the district to mark their attendance online on e-Shikshakosh app. From 25 June, all the officials at district level were working on war footing to mark the attendance. However, the data of teachers selected by BPSC has not been uploaded yet. At the same time, there are hundreds of such regular and employed teachers who have not yet uploaded their data. Establishment DPO Jamaluddin had issued a letter regarding this a week ago and directed to download e-Shikshakosh app. After this the work gained momentum.
On Thursday morning, teachers reached their schools and struggled to make online attendance. In the newly created primary school Dayal Chhapar of Bhore block, one teacher’s app was showing one and a half kilometers away, another’s was showing one kilometer away, and another’s was showing two and a half kilometers away. This was the situation in other schools of the district as well.
It is being told that only about 30 percent of the teachers have marked their attendance online. However, according to the education department, the work of marking attendance online has been kept on trial basis for 3 months. This is the reason why the District Education Officer has directed all the schools to mark the attendance of at least one teacher every day.
If the e-Shiksha Kosh app starts working properly, then everyone’s online attendance will start being made in the coming time. Teachers told that the e-Shiksha Kosh app has been updated to make online attendance. The location has not been entered correctly in it. This is the reason that even after being at the school, the location is showing far away. There are many schools where there is a network problem. The department should first arrange for WiFi in all the schools. After that online attendance should be taken. Teachers are very upset about online attendance. The department is also giving repeated ultimatums, but no one is ready to listen to the problems of teachers. Tired of this, the education department will conduct training of district and block officials through online video conferencing from June 27 to June 29, after which all the officials will work to train all the teachers of the school by July 3.
