A pregnant married woman was brutally murdered by strangulation by her husband and in-laws for dowry in Arrah. After the incident, the accused husband and in-laws fled from the spot leaving the dead body in the house. The case pertains to Badghara village of Ayer police station area. The wife of deceased Lallu Yadav (20), a resident of Badghara village, is said to be Ramauti Devi. As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police of the local police station reached the spot and took the dead married woman’s dead body and brought it to Ara Sadar for postmortem. At present, the police got involved in the investigation of the entire incident.

Relatives say that Shiv Shankar Yadav, a resident of Ramdihal Tola of Chandi police station area, had married his daughter Ramavati to Lallu Yadav, a resident of Barghara of Ayer police station area. The marriage was done two years ago with great fanfare according to Hindu customs. Whatever demand was there at the time of marriage was fulfilled by the parents, but now a few days back, Lallu Yadav and the mother-in-law of the deceased had started demanding money, which the father and brother of the deceased refused to give. When the demand was not met, husband Lallu Yadav and his mother strangled three-month pregnant Ramvati Devi to death and fled leaving the dead body at home.
Information about the death was received from the neighbor
In relation to the incident, Arjun, the brother of the deceased, said that last night someone from the neighborhood of the sister’s in-laws had called and informed that Ramavati had been murdered. When we reached her in-laws house after getting the information about the incident, we saw that my sister’s dead body was lying in the courtyard and no one was in the house. Nearby was the house of my brother-in-law’s brothers, went to their house too but no one was there.
Police reached on getting information
The relatives informed the incident to Ayer police station. As soon as the information was received, the police reached the spot. Police immediately sent the dead body to Arrah Sadar Hospital for postmortem. At present, the police have registered a case of murder for dowry and are conducting raids to arrest the husband and his mother-in-law, accused of murder.
