The second phase of work has started on the world-class Virat Ramayan Mandir being built in Kathwalia of Kalyanpur block of East Champaran district. This temple will be three times bigger than the Ram Mandir of Ayodhya. It is believed that Lord Ram’s wedding procession stopped here while returning from Janakpur.

According to information, Hindu and Muslim people of the village have donated land for the temple. Acharya Kishor Kunal, secretary of Patna Mahavir Mandir, presented the replica of the temple to Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in November 2013. At that time, Swami Swaroopanand Saraswati of Dwarka Peeth was also present. Acharya Kunal presented the replica of the temple to President Draupadi Murmu when she visited Raj Bhavan last year. He had proposed to attend the proposed inauguration of the temple. According to Acharya Kishor Kunal, the temple will be ready in two years.

Kishore Kunal said that the work of carving the Shivling in Mahabalipuram is in progress. Bringing the Shivling to Motihari will prove to be a test. The obstacles will be removed to bring it.
