Expansion

There is no relief from cold in Bihar. The meteorological department has issued an alert regarding cold. It has been said that from Friday, January 19, the cold will increase further. From January 19, westerly and northern cold winds will blow rapidly, due to which the cold will increase rapidly. At this time very cold winds are blowing during the day and night. The minimum temperature may drop by two to three degrees Celsius. There is a possibility of formation of a powerful western disturbance around January 26. Due to this, there are chances of rain in many districts of Bihar between 26th and 27th January. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert of cold day with rain. The cold is continuously increasing.

Araria was the coldest district

In the last 24 hours, the maximum temperature of 21 cities including Patna has declined. Due to this, people are feeling severe cold during the day. The coldest district during the last 24 hours was Araria with 7 degrees Celsius. Whereas the minimum temperature of Patna was recorded at 10.4 degrees Celsius and the maximum temperature was recorded at 13.7 degrees. Meteorologist Dr. SN Pandey said that currently the effect of cold will continue till January 20 due to jet stream (strong winds blowing on the upper surface of the earth). Cold day conditions are being created continuously in the state after the year 2018. A strong layer of it is present one to two kilometers above the surface. Dust particles are also included in the fog. Because of this sunlight is not able to reach the surface. Therefore, due to the mercury falling much below normal, cold day conditions are being created in most areas of the state. Generally, winter rains occur due to the activity of western disturbances from December to January. Because of this the sky used to become clear. This is not being seen this time. As a result, cold days and fog are predicted in one or two places of Bihar state for the next three days.

In such weather, there is a contraction in the arteries inside the body.

Head of the Department of Cardiac Surgery, All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Patna, Prof. Dr. Sanjeev Kumar “In this season, most of the people feel cold. Sometimes the condition gets cured after showing minor symptoms and sometimes much more happens inside. Actually, in such weather, the arteries inside the body get clogged. Shrinkage occurs in the arteries of the heart. The same shrinkage also occurs in the arteries of the heart. Due to this contraction, blood has to exert more force to pass through the arteries. Due to this force, blood pressure increases. Along with this, a problem also occurs. This means that even after applying force, less amount of blood flows into the arteries. Due to this, many times less blood flows into the tissues, due to which the risk of heart attack increases.

Diabetic patients or people 60+ should especially avoid exposure

The elders of the house often say – dress properly and go out. This is not wrong. Especially in this season. Dr. Sanjeev says – “It is the season of cold stroke, hence the body should not be forced to bear the sudden change in external temperature. For example, if you are completely confined, then go out after becoming a little normal. Meaning, do not go out suddenly. If you have to go out, wear warm clothes properly. Keep your neck covered. Never take off all your warm clothes at once. Do not take off your warm clothes immediately after waking up in the morning or go to bathe. If you already have BP, keep taking the medicine. Even if you don’t have it, Keep getting checked if it seems abnormal. Sometimes the amount of BP medicine increases in winter, so do not ignore it. Diabetic patients or people 60+ should especially avoid exposure.”
